Sunder and Nisha had been engaged in early childhood, though never setting eyes upon each other. The passage of years witnessed the untimely death of Nisha's mother, and the rise to riches at distant Nilgaon of her father Rupsinghji, who now disowned Nisha's betrothal to Sunder.

Sunder grew to manhood under his widowed mother's loving care. Sunder's delight knew no bounds when a kindly Fate brought him face to face with Nisha, whom he recognised from her photograph. As a prank, he introduced himself as the wealthy Popatlal, and as Popatlal he won Nisha's heart in a whirlwind romance. With recklessness typical of young lovers, Sunder accompanied her to Nilgaon only to be exposed as an impersonator. Nisha was shocked and shaken till Sunder revealed his true identity. Now Nisha's happiness knew no bounds.

When acquainted with the facts, Rupsinghji, who had already selected his crafty estate Manager Sohanlal as his future son-in-law, threatened to close his doors against Nisha for ever should she go ahead and marry Sunder. Nisha hesitated, just long enough for Sunder to walk out without his beloved.

Rupsighji went ahead with preparations for his daughter's marriage with Sohanlal when Nisha's aunt, so long a silent witness to what could become a great tragedy, stepped in. She reasoned with her niece and told her where duty surely called. So Nisha appeared before Sunder, and her eyes glistening with tears brushed aside all his misgivings as he swept her into his loving arms.

And so, on the auspicious wedding day, there appeared not one, but two bridegrooms' parties. With an atmosphere supercharged with excitement and emotion, this heart warming love story explodes amidst dynamite and disaster to bring to the screen what inevitably must follow when young hearts fall in love.
